Legal Aid Queensland rethinks website purpose and function

Legal Aid Queensland needed a bespoke website with specialised functionality that was also mobile-friendly, innovative, easy to navigate and accessible.

LAQ-longPowered by SeamlessCMS, the website features a fresh new design and accessing content has been fully reconsidered and reclassified.

User focused

Features for Practitioners include a new “For Lawyers” section that provides quick access to relevant news stories, updates, library resources and Policy and Procedure documents.

For the general public, access to Factsheets, Brochures, videos and various LAQ assets is simple and fast. The “Find a Lawyer” intelligent search functionality allows users to find a nearby firm or community legal centre that is Legal Aid approved.

Quick Exit

In addition to these features, an innovative Quick Exit button on the side of the page allows viewers to browse sensitive information discretely and hastily navigate away from the page if necessary.

As well as meeting the WCAG 2.0 Accessibility requirements, the Legal Aid Queensland website features “ReadAloud”, a built-in screen reader tool to assist those with limited literacy and visual abilities.
